The Oklahoma Chapter of ASCE’s Geo-Institute (OK-GI) recently named Dr. Garry H. Gregory, Ph.D., P.E., D.GE, M.ASCE, the 2016-2017 Outstanding Oklahoma Geotechnical Engineer. Peter Shau, P.E., D.GE, OK-GI Immediate Past President, presented the award to Dr. Gregory on January 21, 2016. This biannual award recognizes members who demonstrate a high level of technicality in their profession and exemplary service and leadership to the national institute and OK-GI.

Dr. Gregory was the first president of the OK-GI (2009-2010). He is the current vice president of the national Geo-Institute and just started the first year of a three-year term on the AGP Academy of Geo-Professionals Board of Trustees. He is principal consultant with Gregory Geotechnical and adjunct civil engineering professor (ret.) at Oklahoma State University. He has more than 40 years of civil engineering and construction management experience, is dedicated to graduate-level academic activities and has written and/or presented over 50 technical papers.
