According to a recent survey of over 400,000 people across the globe, certification has led to salary increases as well as more confidence and fulfillment at work.  When you compare that to those who are not certified, those who had a certification were more likely to report more fulfillment at work and higher levels of confidence.

One theory is that employees who achieve these voluntary certifications are the types of people who go the extra mile and build on their college degrees.

Some jobs are in such high demand that certifications may not make a great deal of difference.  But, when you and 100 applicants are applying for the same job, a certification may be the differentiator.
